16th Sept - Copacabana to Isla del Sol

Got up around 10, bite to eat, headed to get ferry across to Isla del Sol, ferry took about 90 mins across Lake Titicaca. Incredibly beautiful. The lake stretches as far as the horizon, islands are beautiful, the Andes rise to the East. Special views.

Was chatting to a French lad on the boat - he was on a day trip all the way from La Paz cos his buddy crashed on the Death Road 3 days previously and broke his elbow. Nasty - yer man had to have an operation and was still in hospital! They went with a cheap crowd for their bikes - i felt vindicated I'd spent the money on extra safety!

The Frenchie without the broken elbow

When we got to the island, I paid to go on a guided tour which was a desperate rip off but still enjoyable! The locals have the ripping off the tourists act down to a fine art.
Aaaaawww! Isn´t she cute? She demanded payment for this photo with her pet sheep. I ran away quickly in case she beat me up

Walked up to the hotel I was staying in, took forever with altitude but the view was off the scale. From my room I could see the sun setting over the Andes. Walked out to the balcony and watched it with sound Aussie/Yank couple.

Sunset from my balcony

Then went for dinner with 3 English I met on the boat. Mighty craic, they were all hilarious in fairness to him. Yer man was only over for 10 days visiting his girlfriend - the 2 girls were around for about 5 months. Dinner was fine, lots and lots and lots of wine!
